GTM Engineer · Lagos, Nigeria (WAT, UTC+1)

I build outbound systems from first lead to follow-up.

Finding and checking leads, the CRM that runs follow-up, and the bots that keep the daily work moving. I start with the commercial goal, design the motion around how buyers actually buy, then engineer the system that runs it. Open to contract or full-time remote work.

Selected systems

Each one started with a business objective and a set of operating conditions. The architecture came after. All of them are built and running.

Outbound CRM

ProblemSeveral outbound projects at once, each with its own daily target and its own follow-up gaps. Generic CRMs track contacts but don't tell you who to touch today, or stop you messaging someone at 2am their time.

SystemOne CRM for every project. A Today queue grouped by touch, with next-step rules per lead. Sends lock outside the lead's working hours. AI drafts replies, and PDF invoices come straight from the lead record.

ProblemOutbound work happens away from the desk. Opening a laptop to log a touch means touches don't get logged.

SystemThe CRM in my pocket. It reads and writes leads, logs touches and sends a short brief each morning from live data. Deletes and large bulk changes wait for an Approve button.

Lead Engine

ProblemA raw business list is mostly duplicates, poor fits and dead inboxes. In Nigeria many good leads are reachable only on WhatsApp.

SystemTen stages from raw list to contactable lead: source, normalise, de-duplicate, enrich, score, check the email, split by channel, write to the tracker. A person approves the daily send plan, with send guards, an opt-out register and delivery checked against the provider's per-message status.

Shortlet OS

ProblemShort-let operators in Lagos run bookings, calendars and guest messages across WhatsApp threads and spreadsheets.

SystemA SaaS for short-let agencies with bookings, calendar sync, Google sign-in and Paystack billing. Row-level security on every table, so each agency sees only its own data. Priced in Naira across three tiers and launched through a referral-led founding beta.

About

About Babatunde

I trained as a chemist, then as an IT engineer, and I have spent fifteen years building technology for businesses that cannot afford to waste a naira or a pound.

Since 2016 I have run that work as a business, BTO Solution Ltd, across Lagos and the UK. Most of what I build starts from the same question: what does the business actually need to win, given the market it is really in?

In Nigeria, that market runs on WhatsApp, referrals and trust. Generic GTM playbooks miss it. So I design the motion around how buyers actually buy, then build the data, automation and AI layer that makes it repeatable.

I build with Claude Code and MCP, and I write down why each setting is the way it is.

How I work

The process behind every system above

  1. Start with the objective

What does the business need to achieve, and by when?

  2. Read the operating conditions

Budget, team, currency, channels and the data that actually exists.

  3. Design the strategy

ICP, market size, segment, qualification and one place to win first.

  4. Design the motion

Offer, price, channel, message and the handoff to sales.

  5. Engineer the system

Data, automation, agents, routing and human checkpoints.

  6. Run it and iterate

Read real output, then improve the system from what happens.

House rules

Approval first

  • A person approves every outbound batch before it sends. Nothing goes out on its own.

Two sources

  • Every named contact needs two public sources before it enters a list.

Proven, then done

  • A test, a read-back or a live request confirms a change works before I call it done.

Written down

  • I record why each setting is the way it is, so the next person can trust it.
